Stanbridges Hobby Shop was established over 57 years ago (in 1948) by selling model trains - we are proud to continue the tradition.

O Gauge BASSETT-LOWKE

We have a very limited number of the following Bassett-Lowke 'O' gauge models. These locomotives are top quality items for the discerning collector. We also carry Peco O gauge track to suit.

G and O Gauge Trains

We carry a range of G Gauge trains including LGB and BACHMANN. Please follow the links to the manufacturers pages for further information and then contact the shop for further information.

HO/OO Train Sets including Digital Sets

We stock a very large range of electric train sets. All sets come with mains transformer that reduces the power to a safe 12-15Volts. They come with an engine and rolling stock as well as track.

They can all be added onto and we will give you a FREE DVD that shows how to make scenery and add onto your layout.

HO/OO track is 16.5mm wide. HO gauge is 1:87 and OO gauge is 1:76 - both scales use exactly the same gauge track There is very little difference between the two to the naked eye. N gauge track is 9mm wide and the scale is 1:160. HO/OO scale is the most popular.

PLEASE NOTE : HO/OO GAUGE FLEXIBLE TRACK PER 900MM SECTION CAN BE USED TO EASILY INCREASE THE SIZE OF ALL SETS.

N Gauge ELECTRIC TRAIN SETS

N gauge track is 9mm wide and the scale is 1:160. This compares to HO/OO track which is 16.5mm wide. HO scale is 1:87 and OO scale is 1:76 - both scales use exactly the same gauge track There is very little difference between the two to the naked eye. HO/OO gauge is the most popular however N gauge is becoming increasingly more popular especially with KATO track being so affordable.

All sets come complete with loco, rolling stock, track and mains operated transformer. No batteries are required.
